Behind the sound
Phil Smith is the owner of Mindses Music, a label supporting artists in the ambient genre (mindsesmusic.com). Alongside that, he DJs across house, deep house, tech house, and techno, though his listening and influences run wider: disco, nu disco, French house, Chicago house, jackin', minimal, leftfield, chillout, and ambient. He regularly records monthly mix summaries to document where his sound is at, and this submission is one of those, a mix that leans rave and tech house with room for peak-time techno and some UK garage bass along the way.
