From funk and Afrobeat to house. Here’s how those sounds found their way into my sets.
The music I grew up with still finds its way into the house sets I play today.
It starts
with listening
From BMX bikes to turntables, music has been the thread running through my life. Funk and Afrobeat taught me to listen for the groove. Garage and drum and bass opened up a different kind of energy. House gave those influences somewhere to meet.
I’ve played underground parties, held club residencies and spent time on dance floors from London to Ibiza. I’m now based in Vienna, still drawing on the sounds that first got me interested in DJing.
Tech house, funky house and deeper tracks all have a place in my sets. An unexpected remix can change the direction; the next track can bring it back. I enjoy finding those connections as the mix develops.
